Francois Gabriel de Bray (1765 - 1832)

Botanist and diplomat in Bavaria. 1811-1832 president of the Royal Bavarian Botanical Society Regensburg. He wrote a description of a journey through Austria and Bavaria he undertook together with Montgelas and Zentner 1801. This travel book was published first in Berlin 1807 and in Paris 1808. A third edition - and the first illustrated one with 24 aquatints after drawings by Johann Gottlob Rösel (1768-1843) and Warnberger - was published in Paris 1825.
