"Carte des Etats Situés sur le Rio Paraguay, Parana et L'Uruguay"

Special map of the three rivers, Paraguay River, Paraná River and Uruguay River. A rare and very detailed depiction of the rivers and their tributaries, which are the most important trade routes of the region. The river delta of the Rio de la Plata with the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, is shown in the bottom middle of the map.

Copper engraving in 6 segments, mounted on canvas. Engraved by L. Berthe, rue St Jacques n° 66, Paris 1827.

Map size (unfolded): 52,5 cm x  44,5 cm.

Beautiful print, some minor soiling, altogether in very good condition. Paper slipcase, with gilded title "Carte sur le Rio Paraguay" on red morocco leather, size : 23 cm x 18 cm, slight signs of wear.
