Rivercourse of the Dnieper and the Daugava in Eastern Europe

Title: „Descriptio Borysthenis Fluvii vulgo Niepr, Sive Dniepr dicti, simula de Moribus Cosacorum Zaporoviorum.“

The large map depicts two river courses in Eastern Europe on one sheet. On the left the course of the Dnieper through Russia, Belarus and Ukkaine it opens in the Black Sea. On the right the Daugava which runs through the Ukraine and opens in the Baltic Sea.

Coloured copper engraving, printed from two plates, from „Atlas Major“ by Wilhelm Blaeu (1571-1638), Amsterdam c. 1650-1670.

Print size: 75 x 33 cm

Strong impression with beautiful colours, originally mounted, small professional restorations at the juncture of the two sheets, not visible at front! Altogether in very good condition.
