„Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica Ac Hydrographica Tabula - Wahre Bildtnüss des Gantzen Erden Kraÿses mit allen seinen theilen“

The template for this copper engraving was the famous world map by Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571-1638). Merian designed a smaller version without the decorative border but with two inset maps, the North Pole at the bottom left and the South Pole at the bottom right.

Strong imprint with beautiful colours, three small holes at the bottom margin, two smoothed vertical folds, altogether in very good condition.
