Title: „Carte Nouvelle de la Mer du Sud“

The map centers on America and shows the tracks of navigators and the trade routes from Europe to Southeast Asia, via Mexico and the west coast of North America. Detailed insets highlighting ports and cities which were central to trade, like the Cape of Good Hope, a plan of Mexico City, a plan of Havanna, the Bay of Rio de Janeiro, Vera Cruz, Porto Bello (Portobelo) and the Isthmus of Panama. California is still depicted as an island.
