Series of 4 etchings of beautiful women representing the four seasons with poems in Latin and English. London 1641, signature on each sheet: W. Hollar inv. 1641.

Spring - Ver: Lady dressed in an elegant gown with an extravagant lace collar, next to her a bouquet with spring flowers.

Summer - Aestas: Lady in a fashionable silken dress, holding her gloves and a fan.

Autumn - Autumnus: Lady in a dark dress with a white lace collar standing next to a richly filled fruit bowl, holding an apple.

Winter - Hyems: Lady dressed in a fashionable dark silken gown with a white collar, she is holding an expensive fur muff and next to her on the windowsill a fur stole.

Size: c. 25,7 cm x c. 19 cm

Strong impression with slim margins (3-4 cm), evenly toned due to old age, slight paper loss at the edges, altogether in very good condition.
