Beautiful copper engraving printed off two plates on handmade paper by the cartographer and publisher Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (1650-1718) from „Atlante Veneto“, Venice c. 1692.

Vincenco Coronelli (1650-1718), was a monk of the Conventual Franciscans in Venice and was later appointed as Father General of the Franciscan order. He founded the first geographical society “Accademia Cosmografica degli Argonauti” in 1680. He was a well-known cosmographer, cartographer and publisher.
