Beautiful map after Ptolemy, divided in 17 cross- and 9 lengthwise squares. Depicted is Central to Southeast Europe with the river course of the Danube and its tributaries, all the way to the Black Sea. In the North Hungary, Poland and the Ukraine. In the Southwest the Ionian (Mediterranean) Sea with Dalmatia and Macedonia, then the Balkans with Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. In the East the Black Sea.

From the atlas „Septe Giornate della Geographia“ – "The seven days of geography" (the so-called Berlinghieri atlas), Florence 1482.
Very good impression, imprint of the copper plate still visible. Partly broken at the centrefold, without image loss. A rare and extraordinary ptolemaic map from 1482, in very good condition.
