One of the earliest “modern” maps of Scandinavia and Central Europe, depicting the British Isles, Germany, Transilvania, Tartaria (Russia), Burgundia (France) and Albania.

Woodcut map by Hieronymus Münzer (1437/47-1508) from the “Nuremberg Chronicle” by Hartmann Schedel, first Latin edition. Woodcutter: Michael Wohlgemut (att.), Publisher/Printer: Anton Koberger, Nuremberg 1493.

Beautiful hand-coloured woodcut, smoothened centre fold, small backed parts at the margins, on the left writing in brown ink “Carte 249”, very good condition.
