Torii Kiyonaga (1752-1815)
A young woman resists a man who tries to make a pass at her, his gifts - unopened - in the background.
Title: Kimusume (vergin)
Series: Imayô jûni-kagami (Twelve mirrors in the modern style)
Date: ca. 1784-86
Size: Chûban, 19,5 x 26,2 cm (paper size)
Very good impression, with relief printing. Colours a little bit faded. With some creases due to age and usage, a few tiny wormholes, otherwise throughout good condition.
This series with intimate love scenes is - beside the series Shikidô jûniban - quite rightly regarded as one of the main erotic artworks of Kiyonaga.
