Natori Shunsen (1886-1960)

A portrait of the actor Ichikawa Sumizô VI in the role of the young and handsome tragic hero and murderer Shirai Gonpachi in the Suzugamori scene of the Kabuki drama "Ukiyozuka hiyoku no inazuma".

Excellent impression and very fine colours. Verso in top corners minimal remnants from previous attachment, otherwise excellent condition. One of the best portraits in this series; it was according to Blair only published in a small edition of 150.
