Chinese Export Folding Fan
Beautiful fan with gouache paintings on both sides.
Front: An elegant couple with playing children and their Nany in a tropical garden. Framed by a light blue bordure with golden ornaments.
Back: Bird sitting on a lotus flower, painted on gold, framed with white and pink lotus blossoms.
Leaf is made of paper with colourful gouache paintings on both sides. Fan´s skeleton is made of red lacquer , the sticks are decorated with two different shades of gold.
Span width: 51 cm
Date: Macao (?) around 1840/60
Very fine folding fan from South-East Asia in good condition.
