Kasamatsu Shirô (1898-1991)

Stairs leading up to the Torii and the grounds of the Suwa shrine in Nippori, Arakawa (Tokyo). A woman with a baby on her back is standing in front of the shrine building. Above the sunset glow the rising crescent of the moon. A very atmospheric twilight scene.

Early impression. Excellent impression and colours, with good baren texture. Paper only slightly age-toned, verso in top two small paper remnants from previous mounting, one small drying hole in margin top left filled from back side. Excellent condition.
