Kotozuka Eiichi (1906-1982)

A rural scene in the valley of the Katsura river near Kyoto: the freshly yûzen-dyed kimono fabric panels are laid out and hung for drying on the river bank.

Title: Katsuragawa Yûzen-hoshi (Yuzen drying at Katsura river)

Seal: Koto

Publisher: Uchida, Kyoto

Date: c. 1940-50

Size: Vertical Dai-Ôban, 40,2 x 26,3 cm (image size)

Very good impression and colours. Full margins. Watermark Uchida at lower right margin. Unobtrusive printer’s (?) scratch in the sky, some very faint creasing in bottom left corner. Overall very nice condition. At bottom right a cut-out corner printing registration mark (kentô).
