Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861)

Daimyô Ôuchi Yoshikata knocking off the court cap of Sue Harukata with his fan. The picture in the cartouche - girl with a shamisen - is signed by Yoshimasa, a pupil of Kuniyoshi.

Very good impression and very nice colours, with some glossy overprint and printed with some mica (oxidized). In this print the trousers of the daimyô show a two-coloured bokashi! (mostly just single-coloured). Probably untrimmed, originally mounted. At right margin a few small pinholes. Nice condition. Rare print.
