Kobayashi Kiyochika (1847-1915)

Mount Fuji seen from the bay of Tagonoura. On the calm reflecting water in the foreground a small boat is heading towards two anchored ships.

Title: Tagonoura

Series: Nihon meishô zue (Views of the Famous Sights of Japan)

Signature: Kiyochika

Seal: Kobayashi

Publisher: Matsuki Heikichi, Tokio

Date: Meiji 30 (1897)

Size: Vertical Ôban, 33,7 x 21,8 cm (image)

Numbered "71" in left margin. Since only 28 woodblock prints were published in this series, however, this is likely a twist of "17".

Excellent impression and colours. Full margins, unbacked. Paper a little unevenly age toned. Overall very good condition. Probably the most attractive print from this series.
