Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861)

Saito Toshizo was lord of the castle of Ikuchiyama in the province of Tamba. He was a veteran counsellor of the Akechi family. In a fight against Hideyoshi he tried to scroll beyond the enemy's lines, but he was caught by Horio Mosuke (N° T37) and executed.

Condition: Perfect impression, good to very good colours. Originally mounted on very thin paper. Some of the woodblock prints are partly trimmed, some a little bit time-stained, otherwise very good condition.
