Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861)

Araki Murashige was lord of the castle Itami in the province of Settzu. He was a pupil of the famous Zen-priest Sen Rikyu (1522-1591). He served under the 16th Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiaki (1537-1597), under Nobunaga, and under Hideyoshi succsessively.

Condition: Perfect impression, good to very good colours. Originally mounted on very thin paper. Some of the woodblock prints are partly trimmed, some a little bit time-stained, otherwise very good condition.
