Teisai Senchô (act. c. 1827-1850)

The oiran (high-ranking courtesan) Sugatano from the Sugata-Ebiya house in splendid garb, sitting next to a tea ceremony shelf and holding her shakuhachi flute. In the cartouche the nocturnal view of the landscape near Susaki.

Fine impression in very good, fresh colours. Slightly trimmed. A few old ink stains (only one visible from the front), some smoothed creases and folds, in the upper margin two professionally restored paper defects. Minor soiling and rubbing. Overall in very good condition.
